JDM Integra Type R and Mugen Civic RR Video

March 30th, 2010

Everyone loves a clean JDM race car. Well whats more JDM then a video featuring an Integra DC2 Type R, and FN2 Type R, an FD2 and a few Mugen Civic RR’s? Sure this video is short but its full of JDM win baby!

JDM for those who don’t know stand for Japanese Domestic Market so unfortunately none of the cars seen here are easily available for sale in the US but you can find JDM aftermarket parts for your Acura Integra or Honda Civic and make it as close as possible to pure JDM perfection.

The Kevin Gatorade G2 Commercial Controversy

March 29th, 2009

So Gatorade has recently released a new marketing campaign for their new G2 drink. I personally don’t care much for these commercials and especially the newest “Kevin G2″ commercial. If you haven’t seen it yet I have embedded the video below.

More or less this commercial is showing the comparison of Kevin Garnett the basketball star to “Kevin, the Average Man”.

I feel this is very insensitive to compare the problems of the average man in this poor economy to a basketball player who never has to worry about paying his mortgage. And as if leading the Celtics to a title is a common occurrence in the life of every man.

being handed a pink slip is sadly becoming a daily event in our country and to be constantly reminded that athletes  have and always will have it better then us average people is just sad.

How does this marketing campaign persuade people to buy G2 when they don’t even have a job.

The dialog between them is as follows:

Kevin, the swimmer:”I’ve never been called the big ticket.”
Garnett: “I’ve never been handed a pink slip”
Kevin, the swimmer: “I’ve never had to fill the holes in my sneakers, with cardboard.”
Garnett: “I’ve never had to tell my wife, ‘we can’t pay the mortgage.’
Kevin, the swimmer: “I’ve never led the Boston Celtics to a title.”
Garnett: “I’ve never used the backstroke, as a coping mechanism, but I have tried, as hard as I can….
Kevin the swimmer: “To be the best that I can.”
