Sounds quite interesting Randy. Are you planning to blog about your $0.02 regarding some of the articles from http://www.scienceofmind.com/ (the magazine)? I'd like to be an audience for your journey and analysis ;-)

I never said this was fact, just a possibility that is supported by biological and scientific fact. Care to give some real insight other then a lame comment with no supportive argument?

I think all the Gaming sites do.. like pogo? I wonder why they haven't thought of this yet. Still, most of the population would stick with the free stuff and still complain about every last detail. =[

I know what you mean. I don't mean to charge everyone a fee for these services. Just make it an option. Continue with the free service to everyone but if someone feels the urge to show their appreciation for all the hard work and entertainment these social sites offer, then perhaps a optional donation feature, or a $1.00 fee for a premium service.

They can get a cool little badge on their page that says "Premium Member" they have the option to have advertisements removed from their profiles, they get to test out new features before anyone else.
People enjoy these little perks and the rewarding feeling of being "special" on the internet.

I know of a few websites that in fact offer this sort of positive reinforcement for paid memberships and their membership numbers have not suffered at all.

I definitely agree with you. People now-a-days take everything for granted and never appreciate the hard work and effort put into the project that was given to them. Whether it's towards a free networking website or something life has given to them, people are harsh critics. But do you really think if facebook charges a $1.00 a month, it will keep its popularity of 300 million? People are cheap, they want whatever they can get for free, hun. They need to learn to appreciate the simple things life throws at them, whether it's good or bad. Most of society won't be able to pay that fee because they are knee-height in dept. =[
