The Vincent Black Shadow

vincent-black-shadow.jpgJust when you think you have heard every sound there is to hear in regards to the alternative music scene comes The Vincent Black Shadow crashing through the walls of monotony like a mad man behind the wheel.

The music is unique but strangely familiar with remnants of Blondie and No Doubt that make you say “where have I heard this before?” Besides being the singer of The Vincent Black Shadow, Cassandra Ford brings stunning beauty and talent with her melodic and emotionally upbeat voice that complements perfectly with the hypnotic rhythms, grinding guitar riffs and the classical piano that helps create this strange musical creature.

With swing like beats on songs such as House of Tasteful Men and the cadence driven vocal rhythms of the song Metro everyone is sure to find something they like.

The band consists of Cassandra Ford on vocals, the Kirkham brothers: Rob Kirkham on guitar, Anthony Kirkham on drums, and Chris Kirkham on bass; and Mary Ancheta on keyboards. And an interesting little fact here is that Cassandra Ford actually work as a game tester for EA Games before making it big with her music, she really is a huge fan of video games.

So do your self a favor and check out The Vincent Black Shadow and thank me later ;-)

Lush ClothingI’ve hung out with the crew of Lush Clothing at quite a few clubs and bars in the Inland Empire area of Southern California for a while now and I have to say, these guys know how to have a good time. From house parties to club events Lush Clothing seems to have mastered the perfect formula for great music, fun people, good times and no drama.

What is Lush Clothing

Founded in 2006, Lush Clothing is a local clothing company designed 100% for drunks, by drunks. According to the guys at Lush Clothing “We all have spent many days and nights at parties, clubs, bars, even all alone with no recollection of the events that passed.” So this clothing line is perfect for all those relaxed bar scene nights with friends, or fun enough for those wild nights at the clubs and bar hopping from joint to joint in Redlands, Fullerton, San Bernardino, Hollywood or anywhere else where your drunk adventures might take you.

About the Clothing

Since this is a clothing line lets talk about the clothes for a minuet. Right now they are just specializing in t-shirts, sweaters and hats for both girls and guys. The designs are fun and creative and with the variety of styles to choose from, you’re sure to find one that fits your personality. The shirts are always available for sale at any of the Lush event’s and parties that they throw but you can also purchase them online here at Lush Clothing Online. Now don’t let the simple page design fool you, these shirts are top quality and sale for reasonable prices. And from my experience wearing them always seems to get a nice reaction and complements from everyone I meet.

Sexy LushLush Clothing can always be found throwing a party or sponsoring some type of event in the Inland Empire. And why shouldn’t they? The DJ’s that they always seem to get such as DJ DFib from The Funk Pirates always brings the smooth beats and the crowds follow. This past Friday, Lush Clothing and DJ DFib performed at the Royal Falconer in Redlands and like always it was a great turn out. DJ DFib can also be found every Wednesday night cranking out the best in Hip Hop, Funk, Reggae and House at Margarita Beach in San Bernardino.

So be sure to check out Lush Clothings on Myspace or Lush Clothing Online Store and check out the clothes and the pictures and come to one of their events and see what the buzz is about.

Dj DFib at Margarita Beach in San Bernardino

July 12th, 2007 Randy Posted in Life, Music No Comments »

DJ DFibSo last night I decided to go check out this local DJ named DFib perform at Margarita Beach in San Bernardino. I’ve heard of him for a while and knew that he has performed in Bars in local cities such as Redlands, Grand Terrace, San Bernardino and Fullerton. So I figured I would go see what the buzz was about.

I go to Margarita Beach in San Bernardino at least once a week. Considering there aren’t that many cool places to go here in the Inland Empire, I was ready for an average night. Much to my surprise, DFib’s set was pretty damn good.

The music was loud but not to the point where it was painful to the ears. The transitions while mixing the songs were smooth and totally on beat with each other to the point where the music sounded like one continuous song; which is what you want to hear while out on the floor dancing.

DFib gave off an attitude of assurance in himself and his skills which showed by his solid choice in music with genres ranging from 80’s, and Hip Hop, to Funk, Reggae, some House and everything in between. The risks he took in mixing songs that you would never think would work was totally on point and his lack of using the mic to promote himself; which to me is the most annoying thing to hear at a club, ( such as the never ending repeating of the DJ’s name by the DJ himself ), showed that DFib is a professional DJ.

The only complaint I had was the time slot that Margarita Beach gave DFib to play, 7:30pm to 9:30pm, which sucks. Margarita Beach never gets popping till at least after 10 pm so I have no doubt that if DFib was spinning during the later hours the bar would be packed.

It was a nice change of music at Margarita Beach in San Bernardino and I hope to hear DFib play there again. I’ll be keeping an ear out for him and be sure to spread the word on this new up and coming DJ.
